Taxi
The taxi fare starts at 35 baht, and stays there for the first two kilometres. Thereafter, the fare gradually works its way up with 2 baht at a time (roughly per kilometre). A surcharge applies in traffic jams (1.25 baht per metre when moving under 6 km per hour). Typical taxi fares for going a few kilometres are around 50 baht.
Tuk-Tuk
Tuk-tuk has become one of Bangkok's most recognisable transportation features, and are still popular among tourists and visitors. Riding a tuk-tuk is more of an experience rather than a practical way to get around. Fares depend on the distance traveled, the time of the day and the traffic. Fare negotiating and haggling is a must.
Grab
Grab is a smartphone-based transport booking application. Grab in Bangkok offers a booking service for taxi, car, motorbike and food delivery. Customers can pay by cash or credit card.

Business Hour
Most commercial concerns in Bangkok operate on a 5-day week, usually from 8 am to 5 pm (Monday - Friday, except on public holidays). Many stores are open 7 days a week from 10 am to 10 pm.
Tipping
Tipping is not a usual practice in Thailand although it is becoming more common. Most hotels and restaurants add a 10% service charge to the bill. Taxi drivers do not require a tip but small changes are always assumed as a tip. 10-20 baht is acceptable for porters
